James asks…
American Psychological Association declares you are insane if you dont buy into Global Warming?
Do you agree with them. LOL
PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS HELP EXPLAIN SLOW REACTION TO GLOBAL WARMING, SAYS APA TASK FORCE
http://www.apa.org/releases/climate-change.html
Do you have these “symptoms”?
Uncertainty – Research has shown that uncertainty over climate change reduces the frequency of “green” behavior.
Mistrust – Evidence shows that most people don’t believe the risk messages of scientists or government officials.
Denial – A substantial minority of people believe climate change is not occurring or that human activity has little or nothing to do with it, according to various polls.
Undervaluing Risks – A study of more than 3,000 people in 18 countries showed that many people believe environmental conditions will worsen in 25 years. While this may be true, this thinking could lead people to believe that changes can be made later.
Lack of Control – People believe their actions would be too small to make a difference and choose to do nothing.
Habit – Ingrained behaviors are extremely resistant to permanent change while others change slowly. Habit is the most important obstacle to pro-environment behavior, according to the report.
Who else in history made people in opposition of policy to be classified as having a mental disorder or crime?
@Philosulfer- Yes.

Heck no I don’t agree with them , I think they have been hitting their own med cabinet a bit too often!!

Betty asks…
Should Pedophiles Be Convicted of Crime?
Pedophilia is a mental disorder, like many other mental disorders, this can lead to seriously disturbing acts. Because someone is sick with a mental disorder… Should they be sent to jail? Or be monitored through their lives with intense therapy and restrictions?
-Sorry for such a dark subject, I need it for my senior project… I need YOUR thoughts on the subject, I do not mean to offend anyone by asking this question. My personal beliefs are not stated anywhere.-
admin answers:
I think they should be given psychological help the first time, but if they aren’t they should be quarantined in a special section of jail, if they are really dangerous, and watched for life if they are not quite so dangerous.
I definitely don’t agree with killing them. That’s like saying thieves should get their hands cut off, it’s not proportionate to the crime (and im against the death penalty period anyways)

Sandy asks…
Do Serial Killers Belong In Prison Or Mental Hospitals?
People like Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and John Wayne Gacy; they were all not found to be insane by the courts but clearly these were not normal people.
The courts argued that their crimes were sickening but they were not sick, in the psychiatric sense. They knew what they were doing and didn’t care if it was wrong or not.
Isn’t that a mental disorder though? How can the courts say you are not crazy when doing those things?
admin answers:
They belong in a Prison for the Criminally insane. Without the possibility of parole.

George asks…
A good drug addiction/gritty book?
I have always been interested in books related to hate crimes, drug addicts, mental disorders, war….sort of gritty subjects. I have already read A million little pieces and I am not interested in Go Ask Alice. Can you suggest me any other books?
admin answers:
You should read the books by Natasha Friend.
-Bounce
-Perfect
-Lush
They are about girls with different problems. In Lush, a teenage girl has to deal with her dad’s drinking issues and all.
Here’s the synopsis I copied off the back of Perfect:
Isabelle Lee has a problem. And it’s not just her little sister, April (aka Ape Face), who has just ratted her out to their mother. It’s not even Group, which she now attends once a week as part of “the deal” with her mother. The problem is, everything seems “fine” at home, but in fact Isabelle’s family is still reeling from the death of her father. Isabelle’s mother has taken all the pictures of him off the walls and cries herself to sleep every night. When April catches Isabelle in the bathroom forcing herself to throw uup, Isabelle can’t bribe her to stay quiet and ends up in “Eating Disorder and Body Image Therapy Group.” Trapped in a room with no air circulation and orange carpet, Isabelle is amazed when Ashely Barnum, the prettiest, most popular girl in the school walks through the door.
In a world where apperances are all that matter, coping takes come interesting and potentially harmful turns.
Hope this helps!
Enjoy!

Linda asks…
Some people consider me weird…?
I asked this question yesterday but it got eaten. Some people think I’m weird because I’m fascinated by the most morbid things. The Holocaust, Hitler, serial killers, forensics, crime scene investigations, mental disorders, murder, mayhem, and the like. I’ll read any literature I can read on it, I’ll watch any show that I can. I just find it so fascinating.
P.S. Just because I find it fascinating doesn’t mean that I support any of it.

Who cares what other people think?! It just sounds like you have a curious mind–who knows, maybe you will become a famous crime writer…
As for the interest in serial killers, murder, etc… A WHOLE lot of people love those types of stories–check out the best-seller lists and see how often John Sandford, Michael Connelly, Stephen King and other such writers are in the top 10 or so books sold.
Also, look at the top TV shows–CSI, Law & Order, Criminal Minds, Cold Case, etc. Apparently people can’t get enough of that stuff…
Keep on reading and studying, my friend!
